AFRICA - A WORLD PRIORITY

Under the SNC Africa banner, Stuart Notholt Communications Limited (SNC) helps develop initiatives in Africa which bring together first rank business and communications skills with a commitment to developing sustainable projects for selected partners. Projects involve a combination of work with local charities and business start-ups, using local resources and sponsorship where possible as well as pro bono and discounted rates work by UK professionals. Communications and information provision are central to the SNC Africa initiative, representing as it does both one of the greatest opportunities for Africa as well as one of the major obstacles.

SNC Africa provides technical support to the Chartered Institute of Journalists' Africa Group, providing a Twitter and Facebook newsfeed and forum for journalists and other newsgatherers with an interest in Africa.

SNC Africa has provided pro bono support to the work of Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust, which works with those most at threat of marginalization and persecution, including in African countries such as Nigeria and Sudan.

SNC Africa has supported the work of the Nsumbi Trust, which runs a school and youth hostel near Kampala, Uganda. We helped with UK fundraising and with the provision of computer and IT training to teachers and students in Uganda.

SNC Africa developed ‘Destination Benin 2007’, a field trip, business fact-finding and promotional programme aimed at raising the profile of Benin, in West Africa. Alongside the work of a consortium of British companies in Business Action for Africa, Destination Benin 2007 was part of the commemoration activities surrounding the 200th anniversary of Britain's abolition of the Transatlantic slave trade.
