DELIVERING BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION

A strong communications strategy provides the essential bedrock to change and transformation in the corporate arena. Without good communications, stakeholders cannot know what changes are involved, when they will occur, why they are happening, or what their personal options and responsibilities look like. They are unlikely to buy into the change process under such circumstances.

Some of the areas where a sound communications strategy is essential to delivering business change include:

Ensuring stakeholders are fully engaged
Delivery understanding and knowledge of the change process
Powering behavioural changes
Redefining the organization's culture and environment
Communicating goals, milestones, hazards and results
Actualizing a merger or acquisition

Business change also requires a variety of practical communications process, ranging from staff consultations through to the creation of new marketing communications materials. In a merger or acquisition, existing communications assets, including newsletters, websites, intranets and social media sites, will themselves require their own merger and integration process. Frequently, this will involve the launch of an entirely new visual identity and brand for the new organization.
